ATP Atlanta Tennis Tournament

I left work early on Thursday to go down to a tennis tournament at Atlantic Station with some friends.

It’s a pre-qualifier for the US Open.

The first match was Mardy Fish vs. Muller, some guy from Luxembourg.  Fish was three games away from winning (they only play best of 3 for non-majors) and he injured himself and had to withdraw.  I hope he is ok for the Olympics!
Next up was two young guys and then after that was UGA grad John Isner against Bemelmans.

Isner is really tall.  6 feet, 9 inches tall.
Since he and a few of the other players are heading to the Olympics, we sang the National Anthem.
Evander Holyfield and the head coach of the men’s Olympic team were there.
Isner won in a really good match!
Roddick wasn’t playing that day, so I didn’t get to see him or Brooklyn Decker, but it was a great tournament!

Always nice to watch a Dawg win!
